Brief: Using File Uploads and Limiting Who Can Upload Files to Copilot for Security
Files with stuff in them
One of the cooler features of Copilot for Security is the ability to upload content (files) to make the service immediately more intelligent using custom sources. For one example, you can upload your own organization’s policies or procedures to be used as part of your overall Copilot for Security usage.
All you need to do to access the uploaded files is to use the phrase “Use uploaded files” as part of your prompt.
As shown in the image above, when I was speaking at MMS MOA recently, I took the session deck that was filled with an overage of links and resources and uploaded it to my GitHub repo so attendees could upload it to their own Copilot for Security provisioned instance and search the session deck on their own instead of taking a phone photo for every slide.
This is a unique use case for sure and may have been the very first ever conference session where content was created just for Copilot for Security to use. ;)
But maybe you want to stop uploads completely. Currently, you can either disable uploads completely or allow Contributors and Owners the ability to upload files to Copilot for Security. This should expand in the future, for now it’s essentially either on or off.
