Copilot for Security Plugins: Update versus Replace
Should I update the plugin I'm using or just delete it and install the new one?
In the Copilot for Security standalone experience, there are two options for a plugin: Edit file and Delete.
You can find these options by locating the plugin and choosing the gear/settings icon.
The Edit file option is intended to be the best choice for updating a plugin. In a perfect world, it will overwrite the plugin file that is installed. However, I’ve found that due to several factors - including heavy browser cache - the Edit file option can sometimes not work effectively and retain old (cached) settings and functionality.
Instead, if you really want to replace the plugin and have the updated settings and functionality be available immediately, use the Delete option. After the plugin is removed, reinstall it effectively replacing the old plugin with the new version.
