Exciting Milestone: Garmin Chat Desktop App Launches with Over 1,000 Testers!
Because Your Wrist Was Getting Tired of All the Typing: Welcome to Garmin Chat Desktop!
Hey everyone. If you’ve been following my work on the Garmin Chat Desktop app, you’ll know it’s been a whirlwind of activity lately. What started as a passion project has exploded in popularity, and I’m thrilled to share this quick update that’s turning things up a notch.
Overwhelming Response from the Community
In just the last couple of days, we’ve seen an incredible surge in interest. Around 1,000 testers have jumped on board, providing invaluable feedback, spotting bugs, and helping shape the app into something truly useful for Garmin users. Your enthusiasm has been nothing short of overwhelming—thank you! It’s clear there’s a real demand for a seamless desktop experience that brings Garmin’s chat features right to your computer, whether you’re tracking fitness goals, coordinating with training buddies, or just staying connected on the go.
This kind of rapid adoption has motivated me to take the next step and make things official. No more scattered updates or informal testing phases—we’re building a dedicated hub for everything Garmin Chat Desktop.
Introducing the Official Project Repo and Community Space
To streamline development, collaboration, and ongoing improvements, I’ve created a brand-new official project repository on GitHub. This is where you’ll find the source code, issue tracking, contribution guidelines, and all the technical goodies for those who want to dive in and help build the future of the app.

But it’s not just about the code. Community is at the heart of this project, so I’ve also set up a dedicated space on Substack for updates, discussions, and sharing stories from users like you. Whether you’re a tester sharing your experiences, a developer with ideas, or just curious about what’s next, this is the place to be.

What’s Next?
With this official foundation in place, expect more frequent releases, feature enhancements based on your feedback, and maybe even some exciting integrations down the line. If you haven’t joined the testers yet, head over to the GitHub repo to get started—there’s still plenty of room for more voices in this growing community.
Thanks again for the amazing support. Let’s keep pushing the boundaries of what a Garmin desktop app can do. Drop your thoughts in the comments below or join us on Substack for the latest!
