It’s coming up on 2 years since I created the Must Learn KQL learning series. Learning KQL is just as important today as it was then - in fact, the series helped drive awareness of just how important learning the “query language of the cloud” truly is.
Over the course of the last year and a half, the series continues to find success educating more people in more organizations.
Here’s the latest stats to chew on, including over 2,600 series completion certificates delivered.
To help expand the audience beyond just blogs and GitHub repos, the book was published on Amazon in May 2022 - with all proceeds benefitting St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Sales of the Amazon versions have now passed the 1,000 mark.
None of this was planned, by the way. I just knew how important it was to learn and wanted to make sure there were easy, fun, and free resources for doing so. Since Must Learn KQL was fully released in February of 2022, many other learning opportunities and resources have become available, further showing evidence that KQL is a key skill.
For some organizations (including some at Microsoft), the series has become a requirement for new hires to complete and, in some cases, included as part of the new hire onboarding process. For the past 8 months the Must Learn KQL series has been developed into a workshop in preview, with many hands helping enhance and update it. There are many more updates to come, but the PowerPoint deck is now to the point where I feel comfortable making it available as part of the learning. So now anyone can take the series content and deliver it to their customers or organization.
